Crime Prevention Strategy Partnership

Blue Light Outdoor Adventure education program is a partnership crime prevention strategy between South Australia Police, Blue Light (SA) Inc. and the Community.

Managed under the direction of a community committee. The focus of the program is the facilitation of life skill crime prevention educational programs for youth.

Team Building GamesPrograms are designed to meet the needs of both Police core business of crime prevention and the community’s role of support in identifying appropriate prevention strategies. With strategies in place the programs and results are measurable through an evaluation process including the Juvenile Justice System

Noorla Yo-Long is the most advanced life skill adventure training facilities in Australia. Located on a twenty five acre site at Fosters Road, Rendelsham in the Limestone Coast. Boasting in excess of seventy ground based activities, high ropes course abseiling tower and two outdoor classrooms, these physical activities combined with the natural features of the Noorla Yo-Long site is complemented with its greatest asset, the facilitators.

Blue Light Outdoor Adventure (Noorla Yo-Long) has a full time Police Officer, positioned on site who is responsible for the facility management and program coordination. Trained staff assist the Police member.

Along with innovative outdoor activities, Noorla Yo-Long continues to develop a comprehensive range of proven indoor learning methods which generate a powerful and exciting environment of flexible learning.

The concept of the programs and the Noorla Yo-Long facility is to provide challenging activities while address topics such as alcohol and drug use, law and teaching social responsibility through physical activity, team building, leadership programs, creating positive attitudes, self-motivation, employment acquisition skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, family violence, individual personal growth and well-being.

Programs are designed and facilitated to expose participants to challenging exercises that makes them think about how they interact with others and to develop skills required to better plan and manage their lives.

Learning methodologies are based around experiential learning, challenge by choice and life coaching concepts.
